ASUU Strike: FG Agrees On N200b In 2014 Budget On Universities
To end the ASUU strike the Federal Government say he go dey budget N200 billion from 2014 to 2018 for universiteis, this money join the N100 billion wen dey don already ready spend for this year budget.
The government don also add N10 billion join the total salary wen he dey pay lecturers.
This Inform dey the statement wen one professor Bolaji Aluko of Federal University Otuoke give on wednessday night.
On the salary wen lecturers dey collect, the prof explain say government go add join once the univeersity don share the total N40 billion as salary for the lecturers, so dey come tell vice-chancellors say make they share the money sharply and make them use the direction when CVC give then.
Professor Aluko said this new thing happen because of the meeting when representative of association of Vice-chancellors of Nigeria University, ASUU representative,Vice President of Nigeria, Minister of Education and others hold on september 19 and October 11.
The Vice-president Sambo come tell ASUU make them end the strike, he come beg them for the "take it or leave it" wen dey say minister of finance Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala talk.
Other things wen they talk for the meeting:
Project Prioritization: say universities go dey choose their project, say government nor go dey force them do any project again.
TETFund Intervention: government come say the money from TETFund go now dey flow like water, so nobody go dey delay the fund.
Project Monitoring: they come set-up new committee wen them dey call Implementation Monitoring Committee (IMC) because of the NEEDS Assessment Intervention for University and the new chairman of the committee na Honourable Minister of Education. say the VC go they meet every four months with the IMC committee to monitor university progress.
